NACDEP Awards

Dear NACDEP Members:

NACDEP is soliciting applications and nominations for the eight awards presented to members each at our annual conference in Park City, UT in May of 2012. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2012.

The awards descriptions and application forms are posted on the AWARDS drop down menu under applications and notice of their posting will be included in the NACDEP December Newsletter.

AWARDS GENERAL INFORMATION

To be eligible to receive an individual award, NACDEP members must be members in good standing at the time of application. “Member in good standing” is defined as being a member at the time of nomination/application and the immediately preceding year.
Teams must include at least one NACDEP member in good standing to be eligible for an award.
Members are encouraged to apply (self-nominate) for the Program and Communicator awards. Nominations by others are discouraged.
Members are encouraged to nominate others (self nominations will not be accepted) for the State Distinguished Extension Community Development Service Award and the NACDEP Distinguished Service Award.
Applications/nominations for awards must be submitted electronically to the NACDEP National Awards Committee at the following email address: awards@nacdep.net on or before the closing date shown on the awards application.
The President, Past President and President-elect select the recipient of the NACDEP Distinguished Service Award.
Regional committees recommend one recipient per state for the State Distinguished Extension Community Development Service Award.
Applications/nominations for Program and Communicator awards are reviewed by the appropriate regional committee where a single regional winner is chosen.
The national committee selects one national award recipient for each of the Program and Communicator Awards from the regional award winners.
Regional award recipients receive a certificate of recognition.
National award recipients that are members in good standing receive a plaque. Non-members receive a certificate of recognition.

NACDEP is pleased to recognize outstanding efforts, accomplishments, programs and/or material developed by its members and colleagues. Except for the Distinguished Service Awards, members are encouraged to self-nominate for awards listed below. Categories for recognition are listed below with links to additional information.

Educational Technology Award - Individual or Team
Excellence in Community Development Work Award - Individual or Team
Media Presentation Award - Individual or Team

Members may not self-nominate for the following awards.
